Golem Network Token (GNT) is an ERC-20 token developed on the Ethereum platform. The Golem Network Token is given as a reward for shared computing power to the providers. Golem Network enables anyone to use the distributed computing power for running high-end applications such as machine learning and AI. Similarly, anyone with a computer can share their computing power in the pool. This computing power is monetized accordingly. Golem Network can produce processing power intensive computer-generated imagery within seconds. All the payments are done using Golem Network Token-GNT for the above operations.

Golem Network Token was developed by Julian Zawistowski who is the present CEO of the project. The team consists of 34 other members including developers, marketers and business managers.

The purpose of Golem Network Token is to provide an immense amount of decentralized processing power for processing-intensive software or graphics rendering. The user pays in GNT for the power he buys while the provider gets GNT for the processing power they share in the pool. The major use of shared processing power is in the development of AI-based programs, Machine learning, big data analytics, and scientific research.
